Administrative Fellowship Program

Sai Chalasani earned both his Bachelor of Science in Business and MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Management from the E.J. Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University. He began his career in the hospitality industry, managing a local hotel group. In this role, Sai quickly discovered a passion for operations and a deep commitment to enhancing the customer experience. While he found fulfillment in hospitality, a personal experience shifted his path.

Inspired by his father’s battle with cancer and journey to remission, Sai developed a profound respect for the healthcare system. Motivated by this experience and his operational background, he transitioned into healthcare administration with a focus on improving the patient experience.

Sai is driven by the belief that quality care must address the whole patient journey—especially in today’s complex healthcare landscape. His approach is rooted in empathy, operational excellence, and a desire to make meaningful, lasting improvements in healthcare delivery.

He strongly identifies with the core value of “Service”— and the sacred duty of reaching out to meet the needs of others. For Sai, building strong relationships through servant leadership is essential to driving progress and creating impactful change.

A proud Louisiana native, Sai is also a basketball enthusiast, home chef, and movie lover. He is excited and grateful to be part of the FMOLHS journey, contributing to a mission that aligns with his values and aspirations.

Miguel Hayes was born and raised in Pulaski, Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Tennessee State University and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Memphis.

His passion for healthcare began with his own diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes at a young age and deepened as he supported his landlord, a pillar in the community, through her cancer journey. These experiences inspired his commitment to creating compassionate, equitable healthcare systems.

While in graduate school, Miguel served as Vice President and RSO Chair of the MHA Student Association and worked as a Graduate Assistant with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare’s Supply Chain Corporate Office. These roles strengthened his understanding of collaboration and the importance of every department in patient care.

The FMOLHS core value that resonates with Miguel most is Service: the privilege of reaching out to meet the needs of others. In his free time, he enjoys volunteering, traveling, spending time with loved ones, TN Vols (GBO!) and caring for his dogs, Emma and Teddy. He is excited to learn and grow as part of the St. Dominic team.

Lajmi Islam was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She later completed her Master of Health Administration at Tulane University’s Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

Her motivation to pursue a career in healthcare administration comes from watching her immigrant grandparents struggle to navigate a complex and unfamiliar healthcare system. The care and dignity shown by the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes during that time left a lasting impression and sparked a desire to build more equitable and compassionate healthcare environments.

She gained early professional experience in laboratory quality testing as an Associate Test Technician at Element Materials Technology, which further developed her interest in systems improvement. While earning her MHA, she served as a Teaching Assistant and interned at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, where she supported patient experience and throughput improvement initiatives.

Now serving as an Administrative Fellow at Our Lady of Lourdes, Lajmi is focused on contributing to initiatives that support systemic improvement and patient-centered care. Guided by the FMOLHS core value of Justice, she is committed to advancing equity, improving access, and creating a healthcare system where every patient is treated with fairness and respect.

Caroline Kennedy, a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University and a Master of Health Administration fromTulane University. Caroline's belief that good health serves as the cornerstone of all aspects of life drives her passion for working in healthcare. Inspired by her father, a dedicated surgeon, she is committed to ensuring that every individual in our communities has the opportunity to prioritize and protect their well-being.

Caroline has gained valuable experience at Manning Family Children's, starting as a Patient Experience Representative. In this role, she managed complaints and grievances, working closely with patients and families to address their concerns. This experience gave her a profound appreciation for seeing healthcare through patients' eyes and inspired her to pursue a career focused on making healthcare more accessible, equitable, and high-quality. She then served as an Administrative Resident under the guidance of the Chief Operating Officer, applying her patient-centered perspective to drive operational improvements and support system-wide initiatives.

What excites Caroline most about joining FMOLHS as a fellow is the chance to contribute to a mission-driven, faith-based organization and help advance its commitment to healing and service. The FMOLHS core value that resonates most with her is reverence and love for all of life, acknowledging that all life is a gift from God.

Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys outdoor exercise, baking, and DIY projects!

Teione Robinson, a native of New Orleans, earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University and later completed her MHA and MBA with a concentration in Accounting from LSU Shreveport.

Before joining FMOLHS, Teione worked as a financial analyst in Tulane’s Bone Marrow Transplant Department where she helped improve reimbursement practices and worked to reduce insurance payer denials. Her professional background includes experience in revenue cycle and healthcare finance, which has prepared her to support the mission of FMOLHS in a meaningful way.

Teione’s passion for healthcare started during her undergraduate years at LSU while working as a patient access representative at Ochsner. In that role, she connected with patients and made it a point to help them better understand their insurance coverage. That experience sparked her interest in improving healthcare systems and creating a more supportive journey for patients and their families.

Her “why” is deeply personal. With a family history of cancer and her own health challenges, Teione understands how overwhelming the care process can be. Those experiences made her want to become someone who helps patients feel seen and supported through every step of their journey. The FMOLHS core value of Reverence and Love for All Life resonates most with her because no matter who you are or what your walk in life may be, everyone deserves access to a healthy life and to receive the best care possible.

Teione is excited to contribute to projects that reflect FMOLHS’s mission and looks forward to growing as a compassionate and strategic leader in healthcare. Outside of work, she enjoys all things sports, especially cheering for LSU and the New Orleans Saints.

Anna Grace Shepherd grew up in Great Falls, Virginia, a suburb about 20 minutes outside Washington DC. She moved down to Waco, TX for her undergraduate studies at Baylor University where she completed her BS in Public Health with a minor in business administration while being a member of the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core (BIC) Honors Program.

During her undergraduate studies, she served as the Healthcare, Prevention, and Education Intern at the Family Abuse Center, a domestic violence shelter that serves Central Texas. By forming relationships with shelter clients and understanding their unique health challenges—especially around medical mistrust and misinformation—she uncovered a deep passion for healthcare and found her ‘why’ in meeting patients with empathy, purpose and understanding. Anna Grace then returned to DC to pursue her MHA at George Washington University.

During this time, she worked as the Health Policy Fellow at the American Action Forum and served as the Community Service Chair for the GW MHA Student Association. She resonates with the FMOLHS value of service, and deeply values the act of serving others, whether in quiet, everyday moments or times of greater need, she takes pride in stepping up for those around her. Anna Grace is also an avid sports fan and enjoys watching NFL Redzone, MLB, and NWSL games!
